CRA Los Angeles chapter is co hosting this presentation.
The film industry and Hollywood were not the only areas that attracted the attention of early Russian emigrants in the early 20th century. The city of Los Angeles, which had previously been a center of the agricultural industry, was rapidly transforming into an industrial hub. Between 1920 and 1930, the city’s population increased by one million people. Visitors of the presentation will learn about the contributions of Russian engineers to the development of fields such as construction, electrification, oil field development, aerospace and aviation industries, and other sectors that contributed to the growth of our city. The presentation will be held at the museum of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Cathedral.
